About the role
This company is seeking a Technical Lead to guide both engineering execution and strategic direction as they continue to build mission-critical logistics software. This role blends hands-on engineering with leadership: you’ll design and build complex features across the stack, make pragmatic architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with the CTO to shape technical priorities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the system remains performant, secure, and reliable as it scales.
- Design, build, and maintain key product features using a Node.js/TypeScript and Python stack.
- Make architectural decisions that balance speed, sustainability, and customer needs.
- Own and lead large-scale engineering projects from conception through delivery.
- Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with the CTO on technical strategy and long-term planning.
- Interface directly with customer IT, operations, and logistics teams to understand complex requirements and translate them into scalable software.
- Clearly document systems and decisions for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong full-stack background.
- Proven track record leading engineering teams or owning complex, multi-engineer projects.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to make architectural tradeoffs.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to clear documentation.
- Highly autonomous and organized, with the ability to scope, prioritize, and drive work independently.
- Comfortable working across the stack, including infrastructure, backend, and frontend.
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Previous experience as a technical lead in a fast-paced environment, professional fluency in both English and Spanish, background in early-stage startups or rapidly growing teams, experience with TypeScript and/or Python, familiarity with logistics, supply chain, or procurement systems, exposure to LLM-based data extraction, document processing, or ETL pipelines, flexibility to work from NYC, Mexico City, or remotely within Eastern Time, high autonomy and ownership in a role that blends deep technical work with leadership, direct collaboration with a CTO who values thoughtful engineering and long-term impact, a mission-driven team that is building real-world logistics solutions with modern tools, including AI integration, a supportive, inclusive environment focused on clarity, trust, and equitable growth opportunities.
