About the Opportunity

The Technical Lead / Technical Architect provides hands-on technical leadership and architectural guidance to one or more application development teams. This role bridges engineering execution and enterprise-level technology strategy by translating complex technical concepts, risks, and opportunities into clear recommendations for executives and business leaders. The position helps define solution scope, architectural direction, engineering standards, and delivery approaches while ensuring applications comply with enterprise architecture, integration, security, and platform requirements.

A key component of the role is promoting the responsible use of AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. The Technical Lead / Architect will also mentor engineers, strengthen development practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence and accountable delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical architecture and solution design for enterprise applications.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout application development and delivery.
  • Translate complex technical concepts, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs into clear recommendations for executives and management.
  • Collaborate with managers, business analysts, project leaders, and development teams to establish technical approaches and delivery plans.
  • Ensure application solutions align with enterprise architecture, integration, security, platform, and technology standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and architecture decision records.
  • Conduct code and design reviews to promote security, quality, maintainability, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Establish and reinforce modern development practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and deployment strategies.
  • Identify technical risks, architectural weaknesses, and systemic issues and develop strategies to address them.
  • Support application environment management, including provisioning, configuration, deployment, and release activities.
  • Ensure solutions meet applicable security, compliance, governance, and audit requirements.
  • Evaluate relevant technologies, architectural patterns, and industry trends and incorporate appropriate innovations into engineering practices.
  • Lead responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools and establish appropriate security and governance guardrails.
  • Define metrics and track measurable outcomes from modernization, automation, and AI-enabled engineering initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and technical team members while promoting continuous learning and professional development.
  • Foster engineering practices that emphasize accountability, quality, security, maintainability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Technical Lead, Technical Architect, Software Architect, or senior software engineer involved in enterprise application design and delivery.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts and recommendations to executive and management audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide development teams in applying architecture, engineering, security, and quality standards.
  • Experience conducting code reviews, design reviews, and establishing development standards and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, including layered architecture, microservices, event-driven architecture, and API-first design.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise security, compliance, governance, and risk-management fundamentals.
  • Experience collaborating across technical and business functions to align technology delivery with organizational objectives.
  • Familiarity with application environment management, deployment, and release management practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and technology leadership teams.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills, including the ability to create architecture diagrams, decision records, technical documentation, and executive summaries.
