About the role

Join GE Vernova's pioneering Nuclear Risk-Informed Maintenance (RIM) Engineering team and help define the maintenance strategy framework for next-generation reactor technology. As the Technical Lead Engineer for Maintenance Strategy, you will lead the development of risk-informed, condition-based, and time-based maintenance technical bases that support safe, reliable, and economically competitive plant operation across the full asset lifecycle. In this role, you will guide a team of engineers developing Maintenance Strategy Technical Basis Reports, FMEA/RCM analyses, and reliability program content for plant systems, structures, and components. You will ensure the technical basis is sufficiently detailed to support outage planning, online versus outage task determination, equipment criticality evaluation, failure mode fidelity, and integration into digital asset management and work management platforms such as APM and Maximo.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of maintenance strategies for advanced reactor systems using RCM, FMEA, PRA, operating experience, and engineering judgment.
  • Provide technical direction on time-based, risk-informed, and condition-based maintenance approaches.
  • Develop and manage teamwork plans aligned with 13-week rolling schedules and program priorities.
  • Allocate resources and assign work based on technical complexity, team capability, and development goals.
  • Monitor scope, quality, and on-time delivery of technical work; conduct in-process reviews for consistency and rigor.
  • Ensure maintenance strategy outputs are suitable for implementation in APM, Maximo, and related digital work management systems.
  • Coordinate across design, systems engineering, PRA, I&C, outage planning, operations, procurement, and digital teams.
  • Support technical discussions with customers and stakeholders regarding maintenance philosophy, outage impacts, and strategy assumptions.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and backup to the manager as needed.
