Responsibilities
- Applies security and cryptography expertise throughout the Systems Engineering lifecycle to develop and successfully certify National Security systems on time, within budget, and with low residual risk.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Systems Lead for Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography.
- Supports NSA certification activities, secure networking integration, and embedded platform security for Type-1 cryptographic communication systems.
- Travels up to 10%.
- Obtains and maintains US Security Clearances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; Master’s degree highly desirable.
- Active DoD security clearance required (SECRET minimum).
- 12+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting Information Assurance systems or related products.
- Complete understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle from concept through test, including architecture development, functional analysis, requirements allocation & traceability, trade studies, system synthesis, and integration.
- Experience planning, developing, and executing verification activities for security features and system-level functionality.
- Hands-on system integration and test (I&T) experience for complex embedded or networked systems.
- Experience authoring and reviewing artifacts for formal design reviews.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
- Proven track record in the architecture, design, analysis, integration, and test of NSA Type-1 certified or NSA-approved systems or equipment.
- Experience with security verification test planning and execution.
- Familiarity with the NSA Type-1 certification lifecycle, including interactions with NSA technical evaluators.
- Experience supporting NSA security Certification & Verification activities, including evidence production, test event support, and closure of certification findings.
- Familiarity with NSA certification artifacts and deliverables (multiple programs highly desirable).
- Exceptional security architecture development skills, including ability to make and defend complex security trade-offs in high-assurance systems.
- Working knowledge of Type-1, Suite A, Suite B, and Commercial cryptographic algorithms (symmetric and asymmetric).
- Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), TLS, and certificate/key management.
- Understanding of key management systems including EKMS and KMI as applied to End Cryptographic Units (ECUs).
- Experience with secure networking protocols, red/black interface design, and embedded Linux development environments for cryptographic devices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate efforts across teams, influence decisions, resolve issues, and effectively communicate change.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $104,500 - $193,500. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
Regular (9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off)
