Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and scale artifact management platforms such as JFrog Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus, or equivalent.
- Remain hands-on by contributing to platform configuration, automation, troubleshooting, and incident response.
- Own availability, performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency of artifact platforms at enterprise scale.
- Design for high-throughput, bursty traffic and global usage while protecting platforms from abuse and overload.
Open Source and Supply Chain Security
- Manage ingestion, storage, and distribution of open source and third-party packages.
- Implement software supply chain security controls including vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement.
- Ensure artifact provenance, integrity, and compliance with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
Scale, Cloud and Infrastructure Architect and Operation
- Apply deep understanding of compute, storage, network, IO, caching, and replication trade-offs.
- Lead or contribute to migrations from on-premises to cloud or hybrid architectures.
- Design for elastic scale, cost control, and operational simplicity in cloud environments.
Reliability, Resilience and Observability
- Design and operate systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Define and manage Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for artifact platforms.
- Build strong monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing to support rapid detection and recovery.
People and Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers responsible for artifact management platforms.
- Set clear technical direction, operational standards, and priorities.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Collaboration
- Partner closely with DevOps, CI/CD, security, SRE, and developer teams.
- Act as a trusted platform owner for the broader engineering organization.
