Technical IV&V SME - Appian/AWS

Position Summary

Zenius Corporation is seeking a Technical IV&V SME with expertise in Appian and AWS cloud environments to support Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) activities for a federal grants management system hosted in a FedRAMP AWS environment.

This is an independent oversight role, not a hands-on development position. The selected candidate will assess technical architecture, cloud infrastructure, application quality, system performance, and release readiness while providing objective findings and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review Appian architecture, configuration, performance, and release documentation.
• Evaluate AWS cloud architecture, scalability, resiliency, and operational readiness.
• Assess technical deliverables, architecture documents, APIs, testing artifacts, and release packages.
• Review Agile delivery artifacts, including sprint deliverables, backlog management, defect trends, and release readiness.
• Evaluate performance testing, monitoring metrics, and operational documentation.
• Identify technical risks, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support monthly IV&V reports and participate in technical review meetings while maintaining IV&V independence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, technical architecture, IV&V, quality assurance, or enterprise technology oversight.
• Experience with Appian, including Appian Cloud, application architecture, release management, and performance.
• Experience reviewing AWS cloud environments, preferably within FedRAMP or other regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, APIs, integrations, and cloud technologies.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation, testing artifacts, release documentation, and operational procedures.
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Appian and/or AWS certifications.
• Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, or Section 508.
• Experience with SaaS performance reviews, technical governance, IV&V, PMO oversight, or contractor deliverable reviews.
• Federal civilian agency experience is preferred.
• Department of Education or federal grants systems experience is a plus, but not required.
