Position Summary

The Services Technical Learning & Development Specialist, Thermal will deliver technical training programs focused on Vertiv’s thermal management (HVAC/R) solutions for field service technicians, service partners, and customers. This role involves developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs on thermal management systems, covering installation, configuration, performance optimization, and maintenance.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Vertiv’s thermal management portfolio, updating training content to reflect technological advancements and best practices.

  • Create comprehensive training materials, including instructional guides, multimedia presentations, and hands-on exercises.

  • Assess training program effectiveness through participant feedback, knowledge assessments, and performance outcomes, and make necessary improvements.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and technical support teams to align training with product specifications, updates, and customer needs.

  • Ensure all training programs emphasize safety best practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to Vertiv’s safety protocols and industry standards.

  • Facilitate consistent knowledge-sharing across regions and adapt training content to meet the needs of diverse international audiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years technical degree, HVAC preferred, or equivalent training and experience.

  • Proficiency and knowledge of thermal management principles and field service required.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Possesses a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Detailed oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.

  • Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies.

  • Preferred 5+ years of experience as a technical training instructor.

  • Preferred formal trainer/facilitator certification.

Physical & Environmental Demands

  • Lifting and Moving Equipment: Safe lifting practices and the use of mechanical aids required.

  • Extended Standing and Walking: Training sessions may require prolonged standing, walking, and navigating around equipment racks and systems.

  • Use of PPE: Consistent wearing and enforcement of PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear, required.

  • Temperature and Humidity Extremes: Prepared for fluctuations in temperature and high humidity levels within certain data center zones.

  • Noise Levels: Elevated noise levels in certain areas necessitate the use of hearing protection.

  • Confined Spaces: Careful navigation and awareness required when working in tight spaces.

  • Exposure to Chemicals: Adherence to safety procedures for handling and disposing of coolants and other fluids required.
