About the Opportunity:The TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR I, CYBERSECURITY role is designed for a professional who combines technical cybersecurity expertise with a passion for teaching and coaching adult learners. The instructor will deliver hands-on cybersecurity training, prepare learners for industry certifications, and support their progress through an inclusive and accountable learning environment. The position plays a critical role in equipping learners with job-ready skills and certifications, thereby contributing directly to the organization’s mission of workforce development in technology. Responsibilities:Deliver hands-on instruction across cybersecurity fundamentals, security operations, endpoint security, and ethical hacking.Prepare learners for certifications including CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) and CISSP.Monitor learner progress and provide feedback, coaching, and support to ensure course completion and certification readiness.Mentor learners through cybersecurity projects and capstones from planning to employer-ready presentations.Act as a subject-matter expert to inform curriculum development and maintain relevance with current industry standards.Collaborate with instructional staff to improve labs, assessments, and learner outcomes while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Requirements:Professional expertise in cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, identity and access management, security operations, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and incident response.Strong knowledge of CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 and CISSP certification domains with ability to prepare learners for these exams.Experience teaching ethical hacking and penetration testing concepts.Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and lab environments including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, network analysis, identity platforms, firewalls, and security testing frameworks.Working knowledge of cloud security and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).Understanding of current cybersecurity threats and defensive strategies.Ability to convey complex cybersecurity concepts in accessible ways.1 to 3+ years teaching or mentoring in technical subjects.Current industry-recognized cybersecurity certification(s) such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, or CEH.Preferred bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.Preferred 3+ years professional cybersecurity experience.Commitment to expanding access to technology careers.
