About the role

RSi is seeking a Technical Inspector/Aircraft Mechanic III to support our Army customer on the Fort Moore Aviation and Maintenance Logistics contract at Fort Benning, GA. This role ensures troubleshooting of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units is performed in accordance with publications.

Responsibilities

  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as Aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages, and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.
  • Use a working knowledge of technical publications and the Government STAMIS to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers' and Army maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Monitor operations to ensure they meet publication standards.
  • Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process.
  • Inspect, test, or measure products with calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Operate electronic inspection equipment and software.
  • Accept or reject completed tasks.
  • Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
  • Report inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected.
  • Submit Maintenance Engineering Calls (MEC) and Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR).
  • Review publications for changes.
  • Review and update aircraft historical records.
  • Comply with Safety Messages (ASAM, AMAM, SOF, and MIM) and update Air Worthiness Releases (AWR).

Requirements

  • Five (5) years quality control experience on the MDS H60 series.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training on the MDS H60 series systems.
  • Must possess a valid A&P certificate.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Environmentally controlled, heated, and cooled shop area subject to machinery noise.
  • Occasional outdoor work.

Physical Requirements

  • Will be required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds (most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices).

This position is subject to a pre-employment background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment physical, and requires the ability to pass Fort Benning Base Access background screening requirements.
