About the role

We are looking for a Technical Game Designer (Creator Tools) to develop creative tools for both in-house development and publicly released toolsets for Creators. You will collaborate with engineers, artists, and other designers to enhance project quality and deliver experiences that empower creators and captivate players. The ideal candidate has expertise in user-centered design, an understanding of effective game systems, and experience creating powerful tools for other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Work hands-on to implement tools in-engine or externally as part of a production pipeline to empower other developers.
  • Break features into clear scoped tasks, identifying risks and dependencies early.
  • Architect modular building blocks, systems, and toolsets that empower less technical creators to build high-quality experiences.
  • Ensure product stability and scalability by establishing performance budgets and constraints for creator-made systems.
  • Write technical design documentation for users—both internally and publicly.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, engineers, and producers to champion workflow improvements and provide quality feedback.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of Technical Tools Design experience in the game industry.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Unreal Engine 5 in a tools design or technical design capacity on production-quality professional, academic, or personal projects.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying design and technical issues, with a willingness to seek assistance when necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of developing toolsets for less technical users with a focus on usability and accessibility.
  • Expert with implementation in Unreal Engine, including Blueprint Scripting and plugins.
  • Familiar with coding principles including data types, logical operators, functions, and inheritance.
  • Technically skilled and capable of working independently in a small team environment as part of a larger team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for video games and user-created experiences (e.g., Roblox, Fortnite).
  • English proficiency: B2 or higher required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working on multiplayer games and Live Service titles.
  • Experience with procedural or modular content systems.
  • Foundational game systems design knowledge to anticipate high-value tools.
  • Shipped game credits and a personal portfolio for review.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX and developing interfaces for tools.
  • Additional Unreal Engine experience, including C++, Verse, UMG, World Partition, and Gameplay Ability System (GAS).
  • Proficiency with tools such as UEFN, Roblox, Figma, and Miro.
  • Experience with other game engines such as Unity, Godot, and proprietary engines.

All applicants are required to submit their CVs in English as part of the application process.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on some of the biggest AAA games in the industry.
  • Great work-life balance.
  • Collaborative and casual work environment.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
  • 401K plan.

Pay

Salary range: $30,000 to $35,000 MXN (gross) per month.

Schedule

  • Full-time, permanent role.
  • Remote work.
