Technical Engineer - Lab IT

About the role

This role provides technical support to business users, maintains lab systems, manages system imaging, and ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to business users, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.
• Perform system imaging (ghost imaging) of lab computers and endpoints, including OS deployment and configuration.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on PCs and workstations.
• Execute installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and applications.
• Re-image systems as required for upgrades, maintenance, or issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures and system configurations.

Requirements

• Strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on system maintenance, and the ability to support automation and reporting tasks using Excel.
• Expertise in PC troubleshooting (hardware, OS, and application-level issues).
• Hands-on experience with system imaging tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and automation (e.g., macros, VBA, data analysis).
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks using Excel or scripting tools.
• A good understanding of Windows environments, networking basics, and system performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
