We support clients with technical planning, implementation management, and capacity building to strengthen institutions and ensure sustainable operation and maintenance of complex assets.
Objective
The project aims to support the government of a partner country in developing a comprehensive National Strategy for EV Charging Infrastructure Development. The assignment covers baseline assessments, EV adoption scenarios, grid impact analysis, regulatory gap analysis, and pre-feasibility studies for pilot projects to foster a sustainable green transport transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive technical overview of EV chargers, associated infrastructure, technical parameters, and integration requirements.
- Review and assess current national and international standards for connectors, communication protocols (e.g., OCPP, Plug&Charge), and safety/HSE codes related to EV charging.
- Define the technical scope for pilot EV charging infrastructure projects, including conceptual layouts, technology selection (slow/fast charging), and preliminary CAPEX/OPEX estimates.
- Assess opportunities for integrating renewable energy sources (RES), solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) into charging hubs, electric bus depots, and other pilot projects.
- Evaluate route usage and EV deployment patterns to recommend optimal locations, technical specifications, and performance levels for highway and urban charging stations.
- Develop short- and medium-term action plans for the technical rollout of pilot charging stations across major transit corridors and motorway networks.
- Prepare clear, concise technical deliverables and actively contribute to stakeholder consultations and internal quality reviews.
Candidate Requirements
Education: Master's degree in transport/automotive engineering, electrical engineering, energy technologies, or a similar field.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in transport or energy technologies.
- At least 5 years of specific experience in technical/operational roles dealing with EV/EV charging investment projects.
- Hands-on experience with charging infrastructure, battery technology (energy storage systems), RES integration, and grid connections.
- Previous experience in the Central Asian / Uzbek market is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
- Russian language skills are highly preferable, and Uzbek language skills will be a strong advantage.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to design and evaluate complex e-mobility infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with proven experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
Assignment Details
Location: Flexible – assignments may combine remote work with short international missions. Duration: Project-based, approx. 10 months.
