Technical Director
Responsibilities
- Act as the final authority for technical decisions, managing the balance between rapid delivery and long-term technical health
- Arcitect end-to-end solutions, documenting technical requirements and selecting the appropriate technology stacks to meet business goals
- Lead technical projects from initial estimation and discovery through to final deployment and maintenance
- Actively mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering skill-sharing and maintaining high standards for code quality and unit testing
- Directly interact with clients and product owners to provide recommended approaches, feasibility assessments, and technical roadmaps
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and maintaining robust web-based applications in production environments
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams from project estimation through successful deployment
- Experience with direct client and stakeholder interaction, bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation
- A drive to creatively solve complex technical problems and empower teams to develop innovative solutions
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Go
- Experience with Java and Typescript (a bonus)
- Advanced knowledge of both Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and Document-based (NoSQL) databases
- Solid understanding of REST architecture, consumption patterns, and the ability to architect complex distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud functions and hosting services across GCP (GAE, Firebase) or AWS
Skills
- Experience creating or maintaining large-scale SaaS (Software as a Service) projects
- Practical experience in Scrum or Kanban project leadership
- Experience with Protobufs, PubSub, or other non-REST communication platforms (gRPC, RPC)
Benefits
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $210,000 and applies only to jobs performed in Culver City, California.
Pay
This range represents the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Please note that we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
