Position Summary

Are you passionate about apparel and the intersection of design and production? Join our fast-paced e-commerce team and gain hands-on experience ensuring our creative vision translates flawlessly into high-quality, sellable products. This internship is ideal for a detail-oriented individual interested in learning the crucial steps of pre-production development, quality assurance, and compliance within a dynamic apparel environment.

Responsibilities

  • Artwork and Design Verification
    • Verify artwork specifications for size, placement, colors (Pantone matching), and print techniques (e.g., screen print, embroidery, direct-to-garment) against approved design files and tech packs.
    • Review label artwork (hangtags, care labels, size tags) and packaging details to ensure branding and legal information are correct and consistent.
    • Confirm that all art patterns match tech-pack details and correct any minor discrepancies or flag major issues to the lead designer/developer.
    • Create and update care labels as requested
    • Measure PPs and TOPs and communicate to manufacturers on all sizing discrepancies.
  • Quality and Compliance Inspection
    • Inspect incoming pre-production and sales samples for accurate construction, quality of fabric, correct trims (zippers, buttons, drawstrings), and final artwork application.
    • Document and photograph any defects or discrepancies found in samples and communicate required revisions clearly to vendors using standardized reporting formats.
    • Affirm that all products and packaging meet required compliance information and regulatory standards for international sales (e.g., material content, country of origin).
  • Documentation and Organization
    • Maintain and organize the physical sample library and digital files (tech packs, artwork matrices) for quick and accurate reference.
    • Collaborate with the cross-functional teams (Design, Marketing, Merchandising) to track the status of samples and ensure all teams have the most current product information.

Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an Apparel Design, Fashion Merchandising, Textiles, or related program.
  • Knowledge of graphics, print methods, and textiles (e.g., recognizing different fabric compositions, knit vs. woven, common printing issues).
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptionally high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple small tasks simultaneously.

Internship Details

  • Duraton: Summer 2026- Fall 2026. Possible extension for Spring 2027.
  • Time Commitment: 29 hours per week, Part-Time

Compensation

Paid hourly $18-20/hr.
