What You Will Be Doing

The Technical Career Development Instructor is responsible for the support and execution of the company’s technical career development programs by communicating with, advising, monitoring and collaborating with leadership and technicians.

  • Communicate with and advise technicians and service managers concerning career development progress and obstacles.
  • Facilitate scheduled meetings with service management and regional management.
  • Schedule and facilitate annual advisory meetings to determine needs in tasks, training and criteria for levels for various career development paths.
  • Complete a yearly needs assessment to determine training class needs for the upcoming year.
  • Input task and level changes.
  • Create clear, leadership-ready status updates and reports.
  • Create future career development programs as requested.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in career development support at the branch level.
  • Work closely with the Technical Training Manager to plan and implement strategies to maintain and improve the career development capabilities of the technical training classes.
  • Provide support to the technical training team as requested by the Technical Training Manager.
  • Assess new employee capabilities to help determine level placement.
  • Facilitate basic systems and operations training during on-site visits.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in repair-related roles, achieving high levels of performance.
  • Strong systems / computer skills and experience.
  • Highly organized, execution-oriented, quality focused, and comfortable communicating with technicians and supervision.

Education/Experience

  • Required Qualifications/Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple functions, strong verbal communication skills, high attention to detail and strong follow-through.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions

  • Active movement on shop floors.
  • Frequent sitting, repetition – hand/wrist simple grasping.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling, reaching.
  • Bending/twisting, walking, standing.
  • Travel to and from branch locations.
  • Crouching/stooping/squatting, crawling/kneeling, climbing/stepping.
  • Shop settings as well as Corporate Offices: Open shop and climate-controlled environment. Work under fluorescent lighting. Possible exposure to loud noise levels.
