Technical Analyst, Utility Operation Technology

SGA is searching for a Technical Analyst for a full-time assignment with a premier Utility industry client in San Jose, CA.

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Analyst to support a portfolio of enterprise applications that enable utility operations. This role is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, integration, and support of business-critical operational systems used across multiple departments. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, working directly with internal stakeholders, and ensuring enterprise applications remain secure, reliable, and optimized. This position is best suited for someone with a broad systems administration background who can manage multiple applications, work independently, and partner with business users to continuously improve operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support multiple enterprise operational applications.
  • Configure and maintain application security, user access, licensing, authentication, and system settings.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors and internal teams.
  • Support system integrations and ensure reliable data flow between applications.
  • Assist with software upgrades, testing, patches, and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, configuration guides, and support procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal business users.
  • Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in technology projects involving new system implementations and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience administering enterprise business applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing application security, permissions, and user administration.
  • Experience supporting system integrations and enterprise software environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting processes and system configurations.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Experience supporting applications within a utility, public works, infrastructure, engineering, or other regulated environment.
  • Preferred: Experience with enterprise Asset Management, Utility Operations, Work Management, GIS-adjacent, or operational technology platforms.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting enterprise software vendors and third-party integrations.
  • Preferred: Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform or similar business automation tools.
  • Preferred: Project coordination or systems implementation experience.
