Areas of responsibility / Main Business expectations
- Technical administration of CR/CN, items and BOM in ERP
- Register, update and follow up Change Requests (CR) and Change Notices (CN) related to Erembodegem products, in line with ABU procedures.
- Create and maintain material and item masters in the ERP system (codes, descriptions, technical attributes, classifications).
- Create, update and validate Bills of Material (BOM) for finished products and components, ensuring alignment with drawings, specifications and manufacturing routing.
- Check consistency and completeness of technical data before release (units of measure, alternative items, revision level, effectivity dates, etc.).
- Collaborate with Industrialization, Production, Quality and Purchasing to ensure that CR/CN, items and BOM changes are correctly implemented and understood.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of ERP data quality (data cleansing, standardization of naming rules, simplification of structures).
- PLM administration and document control
- Support the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process for selected aspects (creation of product structures, document linking, status updates).
- Aid engineers and product line managers in registering and maintaining technical documentation (drawings, specifications, test reports, approvals, certificates…) in PLM and related repositories.
- Ensure that release rules and access rights are respected for controlled documents.
- Help harmonize document naming, versioning and storage rules for the Erembodegem site, contribute to harmonization of processes in the Business Unit.
- Act as a first-level reference point for PLM/technical data questions from local teams (where to store, how to classify, which status to use, etc.).
- Sustainability: LCA, EPD and PEP Ecopassport support
- Collect and structure the input data required for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and EPD/PEP Ecopassport calculations for Erembodegem products (materials, weights, energy consumption, scrap, packaging, transport, end-of-life assumptions).
- Work in close collaboration with Nexans sustainability/LCA experts to prepare and validate product models.
- Contribute to the preparation, update and consistency checks of environmental declarations (EPD, PEP Ecopassport, other customer-specific formats).
- Help maintain a local database of environmental indicators for key products and components manufactured at Erembodegem.
- Support responses to customer sustainability requests (questionnaires, documentation, CO₂/footprint data) in coordination with Sales, Product Line Management and Quality.
- Monitor and flag changes in product design or process that may impact environmental declarations and therefore require updates.
- Data analysis, reporting and continuous improvement
- Prepare standard reports and extracts (e.g. item lists, BOM overviews, CR/CN status, environmental data summaries) for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to data checks and simple analyses to identify inconsistencies, missing information or anomalies in ERP/PLM and environmental data.
- Propose and follow up improvement actions to streamline technical administration and sustainability data flows (simplified templates, checklists, standard operating procedures).
- Support lessons-learned activities related to data or sustainability topics and help capitalize best practices for future projects and product launches.
- Cross-functional coordination and support
- Act as a day-to-day contact for technical data and sustainability-related questions between Technical Department, Industrialization, Production, Quality, Product Line Management, Sales and Customer Service.
- Ensure that impacts of technical changes on ERP, PLM and environmental declarations are clearly communicated and properly implemented.
- Contribute to internal communication materials (short presentations, overviews, summaries) on technical data topics and sustainability achievements for the Erembodegem site.
- Support the alignment of local practices with ABU standards and Nexans sustainability roadmap.
- Structured and analytical mindset; ability to work accurately with large volumes of technical and numerical data.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of rigour in data entry, verification and documentation.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about technical products, ERP/PLM systems and sustainability methodologies (LCA, EPD, PEP).
- Ability to synthesize information and present it in a clear and concise way (simple tables, graphs, short notes).
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage several small tasks and requests in parallel.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset, comfortable interacting with various profiles (engineers, operators, managers, business teams).
- Proactive attitude to flag inconsistencies, propose improvements and follow up actions until closure.
- Good command of MS Office tools, in particular Excel (data extraction, basic formulas, pivots) and PowerPoint for simple presentations.
- Experience or strong interest in ERP (e.g. SAP or equivalent) and/or PLM systems is a clear advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Management, Environmental Sciences or equivalent technical field.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred (internships included):
- Technical administration, ERP/PLM data management, or document control.
- Industrial, manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Sustainability / environmental data, LCA, eco-design or related topics.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- French and/or other European languages are a plus.
