Technical Accounting Manager

About the role

As a Manager in Technical Accounting, you will be part of a centralized, global technical accounting team supporting IGT’s corporate organization across all business segments and geographic regions. This role leads and advises on special projects related to IGT compliance with U.S. GAAP, including revenue transactions, lease accounting, balance sheet analysis, and supporting the quarterly and annual financial reporting process. You will research and apply technical GAAP knowledge to current transactions, assess proposed GAAP impacts, and coordinate with finance teams from Sales, Finance, Accounting, Product, and other business owners. This position requires managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and liaising with senior-level executives, sales teams, product management, international subsidiaries, and internal/external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Provide global technical accounting guidance (both US GAAP and IFRS) to internal customers across all business segments and geographic regions, and prepare technical accounting position papers supporting conclusions reached.
• Provide guidance and training to divisional accounting and finance directors on technical accounting matters.
• Monitor and review the actual recording of the accounting treatment to ensure compliance with issued technical accounting papers.
• Assist with the analysis of contracts under revenue recognition and leasing standards across diverse global commercial structures.
• Perform key control activities identified for matters within the team scope.
• Support the month-end close process.
• Support the quarterly and annual financial statement disclosure process.
• Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.

Requirements

• B.A./B.S. Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of combined Public and Private Industry accounting experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Experience within a multinational business preferred.

Location

This is a hybrid position in Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV.

Pay

Starting compensation range is $125,000 to $135,000 USD, with adjustments based on experience, skills, and location. Sales roles may earn commissions, and other roles may qualify for discretionary bonuses.
