Technical Account Manager Role
Reality Defender is seeking a Technical Account Manager to manage customer relationships and technical support. Reporting to the Director of Customer Success, this role involves integrating and supporting customers, translating complex technology into understandable terms, and collaborating with engineering and product teams.
- Owns onboarding, integration support, and ongoing technical health for a portfolio of customer accounts
- Configures customer integrations directly, including API authentication, webhooks, and sandbox environments
- Repairs and diagnoses integration issues, tracing API calls, reviewing logs, and isolating problems
- Explain model behavior to customers, addressing confidence scores, detection limitations, and edge cases
- Manages technical escalations, setting clear expectations with customers until resolution
- Writes and debugs integration code snippets to resolve implementation issues or demonstrate fixes
- Develops documentation, runbooks, and integration guides to reduce repeat questions
- Identifies potential risks early and communicates them to prevent trust or retention issues
- Collaborates with pre-sales and renewals teams to provide technical credibility
- Contributes to internal enablement to handle more technical inquiries without escalation
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in technical account management, solutions engineering, or senior technical support, particularly with API-based or machine learning/artificial intelligence products. They must be able to independently set up and troubleshoot API integrations, work cross-functionally with engineering and product, and have good judgment in ambiguous situations.
- Experience with API-based or ML/AI products
- Ability to stand up and debug API integrations, using tools like Postman/curl, log traces, and basic scripting
- Track record of managing relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
- Good judgment under ambiguity, identifying potential issues before they become significant
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in trust & safety, security, fraud, or content moderation
- Experience with computer vision, ML model behavior, or data science teams
- Experience building or debugging webhook-based integrations, OAuth/API key flows, or SDK implementations
- Experience working at a startup where you built processes rather than inheriting them
