About the role
Technical Account Manager for the Advanced Materials Business Unit covering the West Coast territory. This is a fully remote role requiring the candidate to be located in California. The role focuses on managing accounts using thermosets, with experience in resins (epoxy, polyurethanes, etc.) being essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage the sales cycle from manufacturing to delivery and customer satisfaction
- Develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business
- Adopt and utilize digitalization tools to support business objectives
- Establish relationships to defend and preserve existing sales
- Identify new market opportunities and target builds; gather competitive and market information
- Create and maintain processes for accurate budget and forecast information
- Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel
- Conduct frequent planned account visits and interact regularly with key customers
- Research and understand target markets and key economic conditions at major accounts
- Work closely with sales support, supply chain, customer service, and other teams
- Formulate, monitor, and improve selling plans aligned with business strategy
- Attend trainings for suppliers, IMCD, and sales meetings
- Maintain up-to-date customer interactions and pipeline management using Salesforce.com

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or General Sciences preferred
- Five years of sales experience in the chemical or related industry
- Experience with thermosets
Desired Qualifications
- Formulation and/or formula production experience is a plus
Travel
Approximately 40% travel required.
