TECH401: Slack System Admin
Background
All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions. JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda. Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K-12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
Responsibilities
- Manage Slack helpdesk tickets
- Design and maintain the Slack lifecycle
- Document Slack resources
- Maintain channels and follow security best practices
- Work with other departments to foster Slack adoption
- Create multi/single guest channel users when requested
- Be willing and eager to proactively seek and accept help from inside and outside the organization
- Can work independently
- Focused on the end goal (serving the underprivileged middle school girls), not the process
- Experience with documenting and training others on the task at hand (interns, new volunteers)
- Customer Service oriented

3-7 Hours weekly
