About the Role

Performs two-dimensional and color flow ultrasonic recordings of the body’s vasculature for the diagnosis of disease. This position is responsible for patient safety protocols, maintaining all federal, state, local, and regulatory agency requirements, and participating in QI activities.

Responsibilities

• Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient’s medical record.
• Corroborate the patient’s clinical history with the procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner prior to patient arrival.
• Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Evaluate images for technical quality, acquiring all necessary images to ensure the radiologist receives the required information, and ensuring proper identification is recorded.
• Required to take call/standby in Ultrasound and for NNMC as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree is preferred but not required.
• One year of vascular imaging experience.
• Specific experience and training in Vascular Ultrasound preferred.
• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or eligible.
• Current BLS certification.
