Tech Support Principal Engineer

About the role

The Tech Support Principal Engineer role is part of the Global Technical Support team at AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software. Our clients rely on our tools for decision-making and application support, and we provide detailed technical advice and training.

Responsibilities

• Responding to all customer queries, ranging from basic usage to complex problem-solving.
• Working with diverse customer end-users to understand workflows and provide technical guidance.
• Developing and delivering training materials and conducting training sessions.
• Tracking and prioritizing customer inquiries, ensuring timely resolution.
• Coordinating investigations of customer issues across various teams.
• Collaborating with Sales, R&D, Services, and Project Management teams to address customer needs efficiently.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry knowledge, specifically in the Oil and Gas sector (refinery economics).
• A strong numerical background, preferably with a degree or Ph.D. in mathematics, engineering, or physical sciences.
• Experience in analyzing technical requirements, solving detailed technical problems, and providing solutions.
• An ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences.
• A keen interest in learning and gaining in-depth understanding of technical issues.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired Skills

• Experience with economic planning within the Oil and Gas value chain.
• Software development experience.
• Understanding of databases, networks, and software architecture.

Pay & Schedule

The salary range for this position is $82,400.00 - $170,400.00, with final compensation varying based on location, experience, skills, and education.

Schedule

This role is offered on a hybrid schedule, with expectations of being on-site 50% of the time to support collaboration and connection. Some positions may be fully office-based or remote, depending on the nature of the work.
