About the role

Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Customer Agronomist. This role plays a crucial part in assisting division salespeople, management, and business allies in developing customer cropping plans. The ideal candidate will also help expand and solidify customer trust by positioning and educating colleagues and customers on the value of proprietary products.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in developing customer cropping plans focusing on soil fertility, foliar nutrition, crop protection, and adjuvant systems, and seed portfolios.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure their business plans, profitability, and sustainability are strengthened.
  • Stay updated on the technologies and formulations of proprietary products and communicate their benefits to both colleagues and customers.
  • Work closely with Division leadership and Branch sales teams to identify agronomic product solution opportunities and educate salespeople and customers on best management practices (BMPs).
  • Utilize various media channels to provide agronomic education and support customer success, including videos, agronomy newsletters, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information, keep accurate records, and organize business plans.
  • Ensure safety is a top priority every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in agronomy or agronomy-related fields
  • Comfortable with business acumen and results-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and understanding of crop production agronomic principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proficient in using computer programs such as MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work atypical and/or additional hours as needed to meet business needs

Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role in Minnesota is between $95,500 - $177,200. Nutrien offers an attractive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, disability coverage, and paid vacation, sick days, holidays, personal, maternity/parental leaves, and an Employee and Family Assistance Program. Additionally, there is an annual incentive plan available based on performance.
