Tech Pharm Specialty Inpatient

About the Role

Specialty pharmacy technicians are responsible for the regulatory and operational aspects of their area of practice under the direction of the pharmacist. Current inpatient areas of practice include: controlled substances, investigational drug service, medication history, oncology/IV Therapy, operating room, and patient assistance. The specialty pharmacy technician spends at least 75% of their time in their area of practice. They assist in training new personnel in their practice area, maintain medication systems (as appropriate), and ensure an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of pharmaceuticals.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: GED or High School Diploma
• Preferred: Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technician training program

Skills

• Good mathematical skills
• Customer service
• Good organization and communication skills
• Ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy

Licensure/Certifications

• Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida or Registered Pharmacy Intern in Florida
• Preferred: Certified Pharmacy Technician

Experience

• Required: 1-2 years of technician experience
• Preferred: 1 year of technician experience in area of specialty
