About the role
Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility providing acute crisis stabilization services since 2001. The center offers a structured, therapeutic environment with intensive physician involvement and oversight, along with daily group and educational programs. We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a full-time Mental Health Tech (MHT).
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision is conducted at 15-minute intervals.
- Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
- Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in patient's medical record.
- Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment.
- Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills.
- May oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration, and changing bed linens.
- May obtain patient's vital signs, height, and weight as assigned and document in patient record.
- Perform other duties as assigned/required by this position.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in a psychiatric setting/patient care preferred.
- Good communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Good leadership qualities, including self-control, patience, and empathy.
- Obtain BLS Basic Life Support certification.
- New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
- Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
