Role and Responsibilities

As Tech Lead, you will:

  • Drive technical direction and product stability: Shape the architecture, roadmap, and engineering standards for a Kubernetes-native AI platform used in complex enterprise environments.
  • Lead core Kubernetes API design: Review and improve CRDs, controllers, admission/defaulting behavior, API versioning, RBAC, status semantics, generated SDK impact, and long-term API compatibility.
  • Strengthen reconciliation and orchestration patterns: Guide reconciler design, agentic loop scheduling, finalizers, async execution, cancellation, retries, ownership models, failure recovery, and safe state transitions.
  • Maintain a declarative workflow mindset: Apply an Argo-like mental model for workflow placement, workload orchestration, resource reconciliation, and operational state management.
  • Work hands-on on critical paths: Contribute directly in Go and Kubernetes code when core runtime, API server, provider abstraction, storage, auth, or deployment work needs unblocking.
  • Keep the wider system coherent: Reason across the runtime, aggregated API server, Postgres-backed storage mode, completions executor, MCP/A2A flows, Helm deployment model, API service, SDKs, CLI, broker, and dashboard.
  • Enforce strong review standards: Set high expectations for CRDs, reconcilers, API server behavior, auth flows, production defaults, provider abstractions, tests, and backward compatibility.
  • Prepare the platform for enterprise reality: Anticipate what breaks in real clusters, including identity, network policy, custom CAs, proxies, multi-tenancy, observability, storage, upgrades, and HA.
  • Improve open-source usability: Champion five-minute onboarding, clean documentation, useful examples, high-quality release notes, community demos, GitHub hygiene, and contributor friendliness.

What We Offer

  • A technically ambitious project: Work on a production-grade, open-source platform at the intersection of Kubernetes, agentic AI, workflow orchestration, and enterprise automation.
  • A senior engineering environment: Collaborate with highly experienced developers, tech leads, architects, and DevOps experts who care deeply about quality and communication.
  • Remote-first flexibility: Work from where you are most productive, with flexible working conditions and a family-friendly setup.
  • Meaningful technical ownership: Influence architecture, product direction, developer experience, and production-readiness instead of simply executing tickets.
  • Open-source relevance: Contribute to a platform that matters beyond one client environment and has a real developer ecosystem.

About You

  • You are a senior technical leader with:
  • Deep, production-grade Kubernetes expertise, including CRDs, controllers, admission defaulting, API versioning, RBAC, status semantics, and API compatibility.
  • Strong experience with reconciler architecture, failure recovery, async execution, cancellation, retries, finalizers, ownership semantics, and status transitions.
  • Strong Go fluency and enough Python, Node.js, and TypeScript literacy to keep service, SDK, CLI, broker, and dashboard decisions aligned.
  • Experience reviewing Kubernetes-native APIs for idiomatic shape, operational safety, compatibility, and developer usability.
  • A production-hardening mindset shaped by real enterprise clusters, not just local demos.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to set direction while remaining hands-on.
  • Fluent English and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international, remote-first environment.
  • EU residency and permission to work in the EU.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with aggregated API servers, Kubernetes API machinery, Postgres-backed resource storage, OpenAPI generation, or SDK generation.
  • Familiarity with MCP, A2A, agentic workflow systems, model gateways, or AI orchestration platforms.
  • Experience maintaining open-source projects, reviewing community contributions, writing technical documentation, or preparing release notes.
  • Prior work in enterprise consulting, forward-deployed engineering, or high-stakes platform modernization.
