Tech Lead / Engineering Manager

About the role

Aurelian builds AI tools that help 911 centers handle more with less, so telecommunicators can stay focused on what matters most and communities get the response they need. AVA and CORA are key components of our mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small pod of 3-4 engineers
• Own technical direction and code review
• Develop and mentor engineers on your pod
• Work directly with 9-1-1 dispatchers and PSAP administrators
• Grow into a full Engineering Manager role

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience leading a team, either formally or informally
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
• Customer empathy and enthusiasm for understanding how people use software

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality code and maintain a strong codebase
• Experience with Agile methodologies and continuous integration
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building impactful products

Skills

• Experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience with machine learning and natural language processing
• Experience with database systems like PostgreSQL or MongoDB

Pay

• Range: $160K - $300K
