Responsibilities

• Drives results by partnering with leadership on Environment of Care initiatives and strategic plans/projects within CCHMC Facilities.
• Manages ambiguity and provides clarity in highly complex projects, demonstrating ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to implement solutions.
• Applies in-depth industrial knowledge across various engineering branches (e.g., electrical, plumbing, mechanical, maintenance, or plant engineering).
• Exercises project management expertise for high-value initiatives, prioritizing projects to maximize efficiency, improve planning, and maintain safety standards.
• Solves complex problems by taking new perspectives on existing solutions and exercising judgment based on multiple sources of information.
• Communicates effectively (written and verbal) in a matrixed organization, providing and receiving direction across disciplines and organizational levels while fostering trust and innovation in a stressful environment.
• Applies knowledge of financial/managerial accounting and activity-based costing to prepare and present leadership-ready comprehensive documents.
• Mentors Facilities Engineer I and II, ensuring standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met.
• Collaborates with the leadership team to leverage project work for cross-training, upskilling, and developing team exposure and competency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial experience as an HVAC technician (preferred).
• Willingness to continue education in the HVAC field.
• EPA 608 certification.
• Knowledge of standard practices in the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to analyze data from routine maintenance and identify potential malfunctions.
• Excellent communication skills.

Schedule

• Full time.
• Night shift (United States of America).
• 40 weekly hours.

Pay

Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status: $27.33 – $34.85 per hour.
