About the role

POLITICO is seeking an aggressive, enterprising journalist to cover the intersection of the technology industry with the Trump administration, Congress and Washington writ large. This reporter will cover the political and policy debates shaping the technology industry from the White House, Capitol Hill, federal agencies and the 2028 campaign trail.

Responsibilities

• Report on the administration’s technology agenda, congressional efforts to legislate and oversee the industry, and the battles among government officials, technology companies, investors, advocates and other power players over the rules governing one of the world’s most consequential industries.
• Develop a deep source network across Washington and Silicon Valley and use it to break news and deliver authoritative, distinctive reporting on the forces shaping the future of technology.
• Cover the administration’s approach to artificial intelligence, antitrust, data privacy, cryptocurrency, social media, telecommunications, broadband and emerging technologies, as well as the lobbying and political campaigns surrounding those issues.
• Track how the Trump administration is reshaping technology policy, how Congress is responding and where the biggest fights are developing across Washington.
