TECH - CARDIOLOGY/EKG - Full Time

Responsibilities

Performs any non-invasive cardiac test available through the Cardiac Testing Center as well as a variety of cardiac procedures at a skilled technical level.

Affords assistance and recognition of an emergency that may arise in the department or at a patient’s bedside (i.e. Code Blue, etc).

Maintains patient data and compiles test results for permanent records.

Utilizes order entry system to access orders and complete exams.

Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Demonstrates an understanding of the RMC policies and procedures, and interacts with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors in a way that demonstrates caring and reflects the RMC mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree required.
• Minimum one-year clinical background required, with knowledge of cardiac procedures, such as EKG, stress treadmill, and basic arrhythmia.
• Completion of an approved electro-cardio graphic techniques course required.
• EKG Certification required and Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association certification required.

Summary

Performs any non-invasive cardiac test available through the Cardiac Testing Center as well as a variety of cardiac procedures at a skilled technical level. Assists Physician/RN in other duties as required.
