Overview
The Freezer Worker is responsible for understanding and following all assigned tasks and abiding by all safety requirements. This role plays a vital role in providing support to the production plants as well as storing and shipping ingredients and finished products.
Responsibilities
- Performs assigned tasks with general guidance from the Logistics Leader, Leader, and Logistics Site Leader.
- Operates warehouse equipment as trained and instructed, following safety guidelines at all times.
- Assists with preparing for production shifts and becomes knowledgeable about machine mechanics and operations.
- Understands the receiving process and how it supports the Distribution Center.
- Assists in loading trucks and completing shipping/receiving documents.
- Verifies loads leaving the premises.
- Complies with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), food safety programs, and all safety programs.
- Communicates delays in loading processes or production setups to management.
- Reports problems or issues on the production floor or warehouse area to the Crew Leader or Leader.
- Collaborates with other departments on production issues or concerns.
- Follows attendance policies, including call-in procedures and timely arrival/departure.
- Maintains a positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to help others.
- Adheres to dress code and maintains a professional appearance.
- Completes assigned tasks reliably and complies with departmental and organizational policies.
- Works within a team environment to meet or exceed production standards.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and over 40 hours per week as needed.
- Shift, work location, and schedule may change at management’s discretion with or without prior notice.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of work experience; warehouse experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail to detect product or ingredient issues.
- Ability to visually inspect products and materials.
- Understanding or willingness to learn food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
