About the role

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team. Our shops are known for their friendly atmosphere and high-quality sandwiches.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (loading, dressing, shakes, cash, prep, front)
• Comply with health and safety standards
• Restock food line, chips, and cooler
• Prepare quality finished products efficiently
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash
• Operate cash register: handle, balance, and follow all cash handling procedures
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be eligible, you must be at least 16 years old, have a friendly, customer-first mindset, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Knife skills are a plus, and you should be able to manage potential allergens such as peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish. You must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 3 hours or as needed and lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
