About the role

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team. We are a nationwide chain known for our toasty sandwiches and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (loading, dressing, shakes, cash, prep, front)
• Comply with health and safety standards
• Restock food line, chips, and cooler
• Prepare quality finished products efficiently
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash
• Operate cash register: handle, balance, and follow all cash handling procedures
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be eligible, you must be at least 16 years old, have a friendly, customer-first mindset, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as are knife skills (for those 18 or older).

Qualifications

You should be able to manage potential allergens such as peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish. Teamwork is key, and you must be able to stand/walk for at least 3 hours or as needed. Lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally is also required.

Skills

Food safety certification is mandatory for Illinois applicants within 30 days of employment.
