About the role

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team. We are a nationwide chain known for our toasty sandwiches and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (loading, dressing, shakes, cash, prep, front)
• Comply with health and safety standards
• Restock food line, chips, and cooler
• Prepare quality finished products efficiently
• If 18 or older, use the automatic slicer to prep food items
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash
• Operate cash register: handle, balance, and follow all cash handling procedures
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must be at least 16 years old, have a friendly, customer-first mindset, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage potential allergens and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

Applicants must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 3 hours or as needed, and be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Skills

Knife skills are a plus, but not required. Teamwork and adaptability are key.
