About the role
Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team. Our shops are known for their toasty sandwiches and friendly atmosphere. We are part of a nationwide chain with over 400 locations.
Responsibilities
- Work multiple stations as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager
- Comply with health and safety standards
- Restock food line, chips, and cooler
- Prepare quality finished products efficiently
- If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items
- Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash
- Operate cash register: handle, balance, and follow all cash handling procedures
- Effectively handle customer complaints/issues
- Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
To be considered, applicants must be at least 16 years old. They should have a friendly, customer-first mindset, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment. Knife skills are a plus, and familiarity with managing potential allergens is important. Applicants must be able to stand/walk for at least 3 hours and lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Qualifications
Illinois Applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
