Shift availability: Days and Evenings | Part time

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Greet customers upon entry and thank them as they leave; assist and offer product recommendations.
• Operate cash register accurately, handling money, checks, and other payment types.
• Perform multi-function operations including fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transactions.
• Maintain store facility and equipment to company standards through cleaning and general housekeeping duties.
• Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; report failures or maintenance needs to Store Manager.
• Complete build-to orders for merchandise, verify vendor deliveries, and maintain adequate stock levels; rotate stock properly.
• Place advertising and pricing signage inside and outside the facility.
• Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
• Keep accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records; account for variances and report discrepancies to Store Manager.
• Follow company guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Report incidents such as employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation to the Store Manager.
• Report any unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Maintain accurate shift and timekeeping paperwork; may take inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Attend job-related meetings; provide regular and predictable onsite attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in walk-in coolers/freezers and outdoors.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory).
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift; requires eye-hand coordination.
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
• Reach overhead for objects; bend and twist at waist.
• Communicate orally; operate cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
• Ability to work alone and stand/walk for an entire shift.
• Exposure to occasional noise; may require climbing a ladder.

Work Environment

• Perform approximately 95% of work indoors but may be required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in walk-in coolers/freezers.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

$13.00 to $13.50 per hour
