About the Opportunity:The TEAM MANAGER - LIABILITY is responsible for supervising the investigation, management, and timely resolution of liability claims. This role ensures adherence to organizational guidelines while supporting and developing claims staff. The manager contributes to operational efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance, directly impacting the service center's performance and client satisfaction. Responsibilities:Establish and communicate performance standards, conduct appraisals, and manage corrective actions.Recommend and approve salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals.Administer human resource policies and ensure staff compliance.Counsel team members on career development and keep them informed on departmental and company updates.Review, analyze, and assign claims to examiners with clear directives.Ensure balanced workloads aligned with staffing models.Review files daily to provide instructions based on best practices.Assist with reserve recommendations and approvals.Coach personnel on investigations, evaluations, reserving, and settlement techniques.Ensure compliance with internal and external standards for large loss reporting.Prepare and support staff for claim reviews with clients, carriers, and brokers.Report activities and issues to senior claims leadership.Utilize and organize workflows within the Risk Tech Claim System and ancillary systems.Assist in training staff on claim systems and processes. Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Minimum five years of progressive experience as a Claim Examiner handling complex cases.Supervisory experience is desirable.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Analytical and mathematical aptitude.Good organizational and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage, supervise, and develop employees effectively.Thorough knowledge of branch office services.In-depth understanding of insurance coverages, practices, and negotiation skills.Familiarity with legal, medical, and technical disciplines.Industry designations preferred but not required (IIA, AIC, AEI, CPCU).State licensing where applicable.Settlement authority as per internal, client, or carrier guidelines.
