TEAM MANAGER I - WAREHOUSE

About the role

Under the general direction of the Department Manager, provides leadership for a functional team within a high performance environment. Oversees the daily management of the function and drives improvement activities through the development of people and processes. Has overall accountability for the results of the team. Requires a university degree and an understanding of procedures and concepts within own technical area, as well as a basic knowledge of related areas to understand how they interact.

Responsibilities

• Team Management: Leads a team in a specific functional area consistent with McCormick's High Performance System. Utilizes coaching and facilitation skills to manage employee relations, provide regular performance feedback, and oversee development/training plans. Actively uses performance and development tools to document and facilitate improvement/recognition discussions. Rewards and recognizes performance achievements. Removes barriers preventing the team from achieving goals.
• Improvement Activities: Utilizes problem-solving tools and methodologies to implement continuous process improvements. Demonstrates urgency and tenacity to resolve problems and leads root cause analysis for applicable failures. Develops and ensures functional procedures and best practices are documented and improved. Interacts cross-functionally to resolve issues.
• Manage Key Result Areas: Directs and supports daily team management to prioritize work and achieve goals (Safety, Quality, Cost, Reliability, Customer Service, etc.). Creates an atmosphere of 100% compliance to operational processes and procedures. Coordinates resource sharing to meet business needs. Ensures procedures and scorecards are in place for the team.
• Communication: Communicates effectively up, down, and across the organization. Aligns team vision with Plant, Division, and McCormick objectives. Ensures organizational and plant objectives (e.g., safety, quality, reliability) are understood and linked to the team's work. Manages interactions with other areas to support total plant objectives. Conducts regular team meetings for two-way communication.
• Functional OGSM: Executes specific projects and action plans annually in support of the functional OGSM, in addition to core responsibilities.
• Technical Duties: Manages the technical aspects of the role specific to the functional area, including overseeing activities such as receiving, transporting, storing, and shipping raw or finished goods materials.

Requirements

• BSc in a relevant technical discipline or a mixture of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated technical and leadership skills.
• Basic understanding of how own area integrates with other areas and coordinates to achieve goals.
• Some knowledge of external factors impacting the work unit and limited industry knowledge.
• Full supervisory responsibilities, including setting objectives, coaching, performance appraisal, and determining reward outcomes.
• Sound communication and diplomacy skills for exchanging complex or sensitive information.

Pay

Base Salary: $74,330 - $130,080. Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
