About the role

Lead production teams operating 1–6 high-speed manufacturing processes on a 24/5 and/or 24/7 basis. Drive year-on-year improvement across safety, quality, productivity, customer service, cost, and internal control. Develop and implement strategies to meet objectives while leading and developing a team of up to 60 operating members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage teams to achieve key objectives in safety, housekeeping, human resource development, quality, customer service, asset management, cost, and internal controls.
  • Foster a safe, healthy, and challenging environment that encourages teamwork, participation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide direction and leadership for operations, process, and maintenance functions to improve machine operation, reliability, product quality, cost, customer service, and scrap reduction.
  • Set objectives and strategies to accomplish goals, maintaining appropriate staffing levels within defined operational costs.
  • Evaluate employee performance, identify training needs, and develop high-quality personnel to ensure effective operations.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a diverse and motivated team.
  • Maintain open communication and data-driven decision-making with operational resources.
  • Build positive relationships with inter-departmental teams to meet internal and external customer expectations.
  • Manage manufacturing operations to achieve conformance to plan, adhering to schedules and quality standards.
  • Forecast capacity and coordinate with operations planning to maximize efficiency.
  • Define, track, and communicate performance against KPIs, implementing corrective action plans when needed.
  • Justify, manage, and implement projects to improve performance beyond current standards.
  • Lead process-specific problem-solving to evaluate and enhance operational processes and systems.
  • Promote an inclusive environment where all team members are respected and motivated to improve individual and team contributions.
  • Support the facility’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policy, ensuring compliance with local legislation and driving EHS objectives.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 10 years’ experience in operational leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Training in statistical and/or lean manufacturing processes.
  • Broad technical knowledge and significant experience in operations, maintenance, and/or engineering, with a working understanding of multifunctional issues.
  • Proven ability to drive improvements through operational standards, processes, and systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
