Team Leader Warehouse I, 2nd Shift New Bern, NC / Full-time Your Responsibilities The Warehouse Team leader oversees the daily activities of warehouse team members, ensuring smooth operations. They audit, monitor, and evaluate performance, ensure equipment availability, and meet safety, quality, and production standards. They manage warehouse functions like material handling, inventory control, cycle counting and customer service. Safety Leadership Promote and ensure a safe workplace through regular safety audits and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct basic safety audits and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Perform routine equipment inspections and report issues to management. Educate the team on safety tips and procedures and actively participate in safety discussions and root cause analysis. Team Supervision and Management Supervise a small team of warehouse associates, ensuring daily operations are conducted smoothly. Oversee daily operations and support evaluations to ensure optimum performance and compliance. Monitor and report team performance metrics such as productivity and accuracy. Drive team focus on goal achievement while managing communication between team members and management. Communicate rules clearly and provide coaching to enhance team performance. Keep accurate performance records and monitor compliance with quality and productivity metrics. Handle conflict effectively by implementing management strategies and listening non-judgmentally to provide equitable solutions. Training and Development: Conduct daily team meetings to set priorities and share important updates. Provide basic training for new employees on equipment use and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Transfer technical knowledge and encourage skill development within the team. Operational Excellence: Support optimal warehouse processes while managing functions according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Conduct process confirmations daily to ensure adherence to established guidelines and perform timely stock inventory. Audit cycle counts and maintains material master data, optimizing storage locations and identifying obsolete parts. Initiate problem-solving for operational challenges and escalate issues as necessary. Maintain 5S standards within the workplace and conduct daily audits to ensure organization and cleanliness. Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) and monitor Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to support inventory accuracy and process adherence. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain records and manage team board reporting to track performance and compliance. Serve as the SAP Warehouse Key User and Project Implementation Coordinator, facilitating effective inventory management. Collaboration and Support: Fill in as a warehouse team member when needed, ensuring smooth operations across all functions. Support processes in material handling and storage, collaborating with other departments to enhance overall efficiency. Perform All Other Duties As Assigned. Your profile High-School Diploma – Required Two-Year College – Preferred 3-5 Years Warehouse Experience – Required 0-2 Years Leadership Experience - Required Work independently and think/act independently Proficient in data entry and safety procedures Handle stress and work in fast-paced environment Open to change and work well in a team Detail-oriented with good communication and organizational skills Work flexible hours, including overtime Team and leadership skills Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment Computer literate, SAP knowledge Record-keeping and warehouse process knowledge Understanding material flow and inventory control Knowledge of hazardous material handling and OSHA requirements Your Pay & Benefits The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document. The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line). 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line). 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
