About the Role
Responsible for leadership of an assigned team, ensuring that all client needs are met and that all New York State Supreme Court orders, contractual obligations, and agency policies are adhered to.
Responsibilities
- Consults with and keeps Program Managers informed of activities, needs, and problems related to case management, staff issues, program mandates, and court orders.
- Supervises all members of the team, including caseworkers on social work with clients, accountants on client fiscal issues, and team coordinators on client benefits and team coordination.
- Supervises social work interns as assigned.
- Evaluates performance of staff periodically with at least one written review per year.
- Initiates new client case conferences and assists the team with development and implementation of service plans for new and existing clients.
- Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, nursing home, and other healthcare personnel in client evaluation and treatment.
- Liaises with Adult Protective Services staff.
- Coordinates emergency coverage rotation and serves as supervisory backup for on-call social workers (24 hours/day, 7 days/week).
- Assigns new cases in consultation with the Program Director and Assistant Program Director.
- Arranges for mandated training for social work staff.
- Assists with hiring and discharging of team members.
- Monitors Medicaid and Medicaid home care certifications and recertifications of assigned clients.
- Ensures all clients are seen at least once per month, including during caseworker vacations, per contractual obligations.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and environmental standards.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Completes annual mandatory trainings on topics including Sexual Harassment Prevention, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory or business-related training.

- Adheres to the organization’s policies regarding absenteeism, appearance, and health and safety standards.
Requirements
- MSW or equivalent; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Computer literate; ability to work with a range of computer programs including financial databases (e.g., Quicken, QuickBooks), spreadsheets, databases, check printing programs, and word processing programs, as well as Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to multi-task and work independently with great attention to detail.
Working Conditions
- Business office environment with phone and computer use.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, wet and humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to unsanitary conditions in client homes.
Pay
Salary Range: $67,500 - $69,900 per year.
