Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and direction to Equipment Engineers and Maintenance Technicians, setting clear expectations, priorities, and accountability for performance, safety, and development.
  • Own equipment uptime, availability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for assigned areas, ensuring tool performance supports fab output and quality requirements.
  • Lead rapid troubleshooting, escalation, and structured recovery of critical tool issues to minimize downtime and restore stable operation.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime and improve reliability.
  • Drive data-based reliability engineering through use of equipment history, SPC, fault trends, and predictive indicators to identify and prevent failures before they impact production.
  • Lead structured problem solving for recurring or systemic equipment issues using methodologies such as RCA, 8D, DOE, and FMEA.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through execution, including scope definition, resource planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and communication of project status and outcomes.
  • Capture and coordinate cross-functional execution of capital projects, equipment upgrades, process transfers, and technical improvement initiatives to ensure timely completion and sustainable results.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple engineering and maintenance initiatives simultaneously, balancing project execution with day-to-day fab support requirements.
  • Partner closely with Technology and Operations to define and execute Fab Performance Strategy, aligning maintenance priorities and engineering projects with business, quality, and capacity objectives.
  • Support capital planning, equipment upgrades, obsolescence management, and lifecycle strategy to sustain a competitive and reliable manufacturing capability.
  • Build team capability through coaching, training, competency development, and performance feedback to ensure a highly skilled and engaged organization.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements, including audit readiness, procedural compliance, and cleanroom standards.
  • Manage maintenance-related cost performance through effective budgeting, resource allocation, contractor support, and spare parts strategy.
  • Maintain compliance of 5S standards of engineering and maintenance workspaces in offices, shops, and production areas.

Position Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, with 7+ years of semiconductor fab or closely related manufacturing/engineering experience required; advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) or registration as a Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Strong technical expertise in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, maintenance systems, reliability improvement, and engineering project execution required.
  • Experience leading capital projects, tool installations, upgrades, qualifications, or cross-functional engineering initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis, SPC, fault trending, and reliability engineering required; predictive maintenance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead teams, plan and execute programs or projects, and deliver measurable results.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and development of technical talent.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and influence decisions through data, credibility, and collaboration.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar software required.
  • Intermediate SAP knowledge with experience in Sales and Distribution modules required.
  • Working knowledge of silicon products required, along with strong customer service skills and the ability to train and mentor others.
