Team Leader - Emerging Adults Chicago

About the role

This role involves supervising a team of Community Support Specialists (CSS) who provide mental health services to young adults in the community. The Team Leader shares case management and counseling duties, leads by example, and works directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service while overseeing the team
• Collaborate with clients to create symptom management plans and teach coping skills
• Manage and participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to clients' needs
• Engage and motivate staff during team meetings and supervision
• Drive collaboration on client care and help staff work through challenges
• Share knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices
• Receive ongoing training, clinical supervision, and leadership development

Requirements

• Passion for mental health advocacy and working with young people
• Strong communication and teaching skills
• Adaptability to staff and client needs
• Superb time management and organizational skills
• A valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and a car for daily use
• Willingness to provide transportation to clients

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Licensed clinician (LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, LCP) preferred
• Previous experience with youth or young adults preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
