Team Leader - Dietitian
Position Purpose
The Dietitian Team Leader manages and provides daily supervision for a team of dietitians within a multidisciplinary behavioral health clinic specializing in outpatient and intensive outpatient care for eating disorders. In addition to overseeing menus, nutritional standards, staff training, and quality assurance, this role delivers direct client care through nutritional assessments, education, meal planning, and group facilitation. The Team Leader serves as the primary point of contact for clinical problem-solving, team administration, and integration of nutrition services into individualized treatment into individualized treatment plans. This role promotes trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care and supports long-term health stabilization and recovery outcomes.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or other related field or equivalent training, education, and experience
Active RD/RDN credential and licensure as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in the State in Illinois
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in eating disorders, behavioral health, or a related specialty preferred
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, behavioral health, and evidence-based eating disorder treatment (eg.CBT-E, FBT, HAES-informed approaches)
Ability to motivate staff, facilitate team development, and resolve problems constructively
Experience or interest in working with athletes and performing artists
Proficiency in documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems; ability to complete clinical documentation within prescribed timeframes
Demonstrate ability to present educational content for clients, parents, staff, and community partners
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Self-directed with the ability to manage competing priorities independently

Responsibilities
Work hours prescribed by leadership and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned
Recruit, orient, train and onboard dietitian staff and other assigned team members in accordance with Rosecrance policies and program standards
Provide staff feedback on performance via team meetings, monthly supervision and annual reviews or individual feedback when needed
Manage team scheduling and workloads to ensure adequate coverage, redistribute assignments, and support both service levels and staff sustainability
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients with eating disorders, including evaluation of eating behaviors, medical history, and psychological status
Evaluate eating habits, medical history, and psychological status to understand the severity and type of eating disorder
Identify professional development needs and facilitate training opportunities for team members
Design, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans and protocols tailored to each client’s diagnosis, and recovery goals, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, AFRID and other related conditions
Ensure nutritional adequacy to promote recovery and health stabilization
Assess, track, and accurately document client responses to treatment, progress toward recovery goals, and changes in clinical status within prescribed timeframes using the organization’s EHR system
Regularly monitor and track clients’ nutritional intake and overall health status; adjust plans in response to clinical progress or medical and psychological developments
Educate and counsel patients and their families on nutrition, behavior modification, recovery supported lifestyle practices
Collaborate closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians, therapists and team members to integrate nutrition care into comprehensive treatment plans
Provide compassionate non-judgmental support to help clients rebuild a positive relationship with food, address fears, and correct harmful misconceptions throughout the recovery process
Monitor emerging research, clinical practice guidelines, and industry best practices on eating disorders and clinical nutrition; translate findings into team practice updates
Compile detailed clinical reports to facilitate insurance processing, multidisciplinary reviews, and research activities
Oversee program menus and nutritional standards to ensure clinical appropriateness and regulatory compliance
Facilitate nutrition-focused group sessions within the outpatient and intensive outpatient program structure
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision as required
Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer
Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance
Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned by leadership
Schedule
8 hour shifts
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Work Location: Rosecrance - Chicago River North

Compensation
Starting Salary: $77,417.60 year
