Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Deliver Legendary Service and reinforce Leading with Legendary behaviors through customer engagement, team member coaching, and accountability for execution.
• Use A+ Coaching routines to develop team members, improve selling behaviors, and reinforce consistent operating standards.
• Serve as one of the top selling team members in the store.
• Train, coach, and follow up with team members during assigned shifts using A+ Coaching.
• Own Power Panel execution, maintenance, replenishment, signing, and recovery.
• Own Clipstrip execution, maintenance, replenishment, signing, and recovery.
• Own Endcap execution, maintenance, signing, and recovery.
• Perform full weekly clothing department recovery, including assigned standards and follow-up.
• Support BOPIS/OMNI execution, including picking, staging, customer handoff, and follow-up as assigned.
• Lead assigned team members during shifts, including task delegation, follow-up, service expectations, and safe work practices.
• Support front-end, sales-floor, recovery, and customer engagement routines as assigned by the Store Manager or Sales Manager.
• Report through and receive direction from the Store Manager (in stores under $9M) or Sales Manager (in stores over $9M) for assigned area ownership.
• Support store recovery while maintaining ownership of Power Panels, Clipstrips, Endcaps, and Clothing through Team Leader area ownership rather than general Recovery SOP.
• Operate cash register/computer, forklift, and other equipment as needed; assist customers with loading purchases.
• Complete all documentation associated with job duties accurately and timely.
• Obtain licenses or certifications as needed by the business.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required; must be able to read, write, and count accurately.

Skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Ability to perform and execute principal responsibilities of team members.

Working Conditions

• Favorable working environment, generally indoors with moderate noise.
• Work shifts vary but are generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 10 hours.
• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are typically hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.); lighting and temperature are adequate.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with the assistance of proper material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack).
• Ability to occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead.
• Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Ability to move throughout the store for an entire shift.
• Ability to safely access all areas of the store including selling floor, side lot, stock area, and register area.
• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run a store (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register). Forklift and baler requirements do not apply if under the age of 18.
• Ability to constantly operate store equipment such as computer and cash register.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
• Ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Ability to process information/merchandise through the point-of-sale system.
• Ability to handle and be in contact with birds/poultry.
• Ability to successfully complete training and certification to dispense propane (does not apply if under the age of 18).
• Ability to travel as required in support of district needs.
• Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for business needs.
• This position is non-sedentary.

Part-time new hires gain eligibility for TSC benefits by averaging at least 15 hours per week during their 90-day lookback period. The lookback period starts the first of the month following the date of hire. If the 15-hour requirement is met, benefits eligibility begins the first day of the month following 4 months of continuous service.
