About the role
Monarch Steel Company, Inc., a division of American Consolidated Industries, is one of the country’s largest providers of hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized steel products. Here at Monarch Steel we receive steel coils, slit/blank/cut to length coils and ship to our customers. Responsibilities
- Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M culture.
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Ensure that team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements.
- Aid in training operations personnel.
- Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools.
- Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
- Review production set-ups for accuracy and quality requirements.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Although no direct reports, the Team Lead may be asked to assist in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employee.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively with all members of the team from various backgrounds.
- Solid knowledge of machine capabilities and manufacturing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate with team members and the management.
- Profound ability to organize and schedule multiple activities and resources for efficient and effective utilization.
- Strong experience with machining or/and manufacturing process.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, required. Minimum of one-two years operations and industry experience, required.
Licenses/Designations and Certifications
Licensed to operate a forklift, a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high.
- Regularly sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently talk or hear.
- Occasionally stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
