Team Leader, AM, Fresh Kitchen - Deerfield

About the role

This position involves performing various tasks in the work area, covering for absent associates, and assisting managers with scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Performing tasks in the work area on a daily basis within the team
• Covering for unplanned absences and vacations
• Understanding and maintaining all department reports and procedures
• Cooking for breaks and lunch schedules
• Overseeing and understanding the maintenance of equipment, PM's and work orders
• Aiding managers with scheduling of associates
• Understanding production and executing department requirements
• Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Promoting and enforcing quality and food safety standards
• Assisting with job skill training for all associates
• Leading and driving improvement of plant operations
• Analyzing and understanding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data
• Performing the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of the Department Manager/Assistant Department Manager in their absence
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Able to learn and perform all positions in the department
• Able to understand plant policies, practices, procedures, and requirements
• Able to plan, organize, and follow-through on assignments
• Able to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift
• Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
• Able to travel to any specialized training
• Able to demonstrate maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment
• Able to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of GMPs program
• Able to use industrial strength chemicals
• Able to demonstrate basic mechanical skills
• Able to climb ladders
• Able to demonstrate excellent work habits in line with GMPs
• Able to demonstrate safe working habits
• Able to demonstrate leadership skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to demonstrate good human relations skills
• Able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Able to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
• Able to assist other team members in other areas
• Able to work efficiently with little or no supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college coursework in Business, Engineering, and/or Food Science
• Department experience related to this position
