Team Leader 3rd Shift

Responsible

• Leading a team of LOC employees
• Participating in daily operations
• Ensuring performance targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met
• Overseeing all material handling activities, including safe and efficient movement of goods using forklifts and other equipment
• Troubleshooting minor equipment issues and escalating when necessary
• Tracking team BPD (Business Plan Deployment - KPI's) through SPQRCE
• Providing feedback and supporting performance improvements
• Maintaining valid forklift certification and operating equipment safely
• Training and mentoring team members on proper forklift operation and material handling procedures
• Conducting routine equipment checks and reporting maintenance needs
• Acting as a liaison between supervisors/management and team members
• Reporting out any issues, delays, inventory shortages, or equipment concerns
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, material flow, and reduce waste
• Supporting lean manufacturing and workplace organization initiatives (e.g., 5S)
• Enforcing workplace safety policies and procedures
• Ensuring safe operation of forklifts and adherence to material handling safety standards
• Conducting safety checks and promoting a safe working environment
• Leading, coaching, and supporting a team of material handlers and general laborers in the shop
• Assigning daily tasks and monitoring workflow to meet customer schedules
• Training new employees and providing ongoing guidance
• Using tools such as LPA for "Go & See" approach
• Ensuring parts are delivered on-time and accurately to customers
• Completing daily QPV (Quality Prevention & Verification Checklist)
• Overseeing all material handling activities, including receiving, staging, storage, and shipping of materials
• Ensuring proper inventory flow to prevent operation or shipping delays
• Maintaining key monthly cost targets on BPD board for items such as scrap, rework, etc.
• Monitoring key monthly targets and continuous improvement on waste opportunities utilizing BPD board

Qualifications

• Valid driver's licence
• Criminal background check, Drug Screen, and Post Offer Pre-employment physical
• Grade 12 education or equivalent experience
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills
• Valid Forklift License (preferred)

$22.55 per hour
