About the role
The Team leader 1 Facilities Custodial Supervisor will oversee custodial services and personnel. Key responsibilities include coordinating custodial staff, ensuring safety and cleanliness, supervising, and managing tasks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, directs, and schedules custodial staff and contracted personnel.
- Maintains professional relationships with site customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Conducts facility walks, quality control inspections, safety audits, and provides feedback.
- Supervises staff; ensures competent, motivated staff through hiring, training, counseling, and reviewing performance.
- Schedules and prioritizes tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
- Reviews employee timecards for accuracy, verifies hours worked, and processes PTO according to payroll procedures.
- Maintains departmental coverage and customer satisfaction by monitoring absences, sick and vacation days of personnel.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Supports second shift schedule with occasional overtime and weekend work.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related field and 2 years of relevant facilities experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of relevant experience, education, training, or certifications may be considered.
- Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheet, and internet skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of custodial best practices, safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of methods, materials, chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment used in cleaning offices and buildings.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety measures used in the operating cleaning, and care of equipment and work areas.
- Experience using purchase orders for janitorial supplies and equipment.
- Strong organization, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and others.
- Ability to train employees in proper departmental practices and procedures, including safety and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment to foster teamwork with both external and internal customers.
- Valid driver's license.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
